MARK SIEHLING RECEIVES ELIHU THOMSON RESISTANCE WELDING AWARD

Mark Siehling, Vice President of Engineering at RoMan Manufacturing was honored by the Resistance Welding Manufacturing (RWMA) Committee of the American Welding Society (AWS) with the Elihu Thomson Resistance Welding Award. Established in conjunction with the 100th anniversary of the invention of resistance welding, the award is named after Elihu Thomson, who in 1880 founded Thomson-Houston Electric Company, the forerunner of General Electric. It is given annually by the RWMA Committee to a living individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the technology and application of resistance welding.

For over 35 years Mark has been an active member of various committees of the American Welding Society, Resistance Welding Manufacturer’s Alliance, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. He has contributed to the RWMA Resistance Welding Manual, the AWS Welding Handbook, made numerous presentations, published articles, and authored several papers on resistance welding equipment and applications. He has also been an instructor in the AWS Resistance Welding School from 2007 to 2016.
