March 7, 2013
RoMan Manufacturing®, a leader in the development of water-cooled transformers and power supplies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Paul Doyle to the Board of Directors.
Paul Doyle, principal of Paul T. Doyle & Associates, LLC has over 30 years of experience working within the health care environment, He provides strategic guidance to facilitate systems change within the human dimension of an organization’s — culture, values and behavior — which is essential for any organization to maintain a competitive edge in today’s complex and rapidly changing world.
His experience in community health improvement programming has provided him the knowledge to identify barriers and systemic gaps that contributes to racial disparities in health and health care. It has also supported his work in developing strategic approaches to assess an organization’s capacity to support a culturally competent work and service environment.
Among his clients are: Spectrum Health (Grand Rapids, Michigan) Sutter Health (Sacramento, California), Southern Illinois Healthcare, Princeton University Health Services, Association of Community Health Improvement (ACHI) and Health Research & Educational Trust (HRET).
Paul was born and raised in the housing projects in Brooklyn, New York, through which he saw the effect drugs, violence, despair, and lack of resources can have on a person’s ability to thrive. It is that experience that has driven him to “give back” through volunteering in community, this reflected by his board participation, which includes:
- Kentwood Public Schools Board of Education, (Past) President,
- Grand Rapids Community Foundation (Past) Board Chair,
- Grand Rapids African American Health Institute (Founding Board Chair) and March of Dimes, Board of Directors.
Paul is the recipient of 2006 United Ways Project Blue Print Diversity Leadership Award, 2008 Ferris State University’s Distinguished Alumni Award, Grand Rapids 2010 Medical Service “GIANTS” Award and 2010 Grand Rapids African American Legacy Award. He is also Adjunct Instructor for Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine.
