R & E Automated Systems Acquires RoMan Engineering Services

January 12, 2014

RoMan Manufacturing® is pleased to announce that R & E Automated Systems, an internationally recognized leader in the automation, engineering and prototype build industries, has acquired one of the company’s subsidiaries—RoMan Engineering Services. This combination—the RES professional engineering staff, together with the well-established welding engineering group at R & E—will provide one of the industry’s largest and most talented teams in the business, delivering a broad portfolio of manufacturing support and engineering consulting services.

The decision to sell RoMan Engineering Services was made after a period of careful consideration. Over the past thirteen years RES has filled a very important void in the welding industry, supporting the demands of high production manufacturers that use the welding process to produce their products. However, in view of new opportunities in its core market, RoMan Manufacturing is focusing its efforts on expanding its customer base for applications requiring high-current/low-voltage industrial process transformers. As it has been since its founding, RoMan Manufacturing remains committed to the welding industry by continuing to provide the most innovative and complete line of resistance welding transformers and power supplies in the world.

At the same time, the company is also expanding its multi-product capabilities in the welding industry through IRCO Automation™. IRCO is a wholly owned subsidiary which produces positioning and automation equipment designed for heavy fabrication manufacturers found in the oil and gas, shipbuilding, railcar, heavy equipment and infrastructure sectors.
